Job Description

This Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery Locum Tenens position is located in Oklahoma.

Location: One hour north of Oklahoma City (Inquire for specific location) 
Duration: Late May (~ May 26-31) – August 1
(Full-time coverage needed ~May 26-June 20 and July 7-August 1; *won’t need coverage June 21st – July 4)
Reason for coverage: Maternity Leave coverage
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week
Shift: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shift – Monday-Wednesday are clinic days, starting at 8am and Thursday-Friday are scheduled surgeries, starting at 6:30am (prep for surgeries starting at 7am)
Call: call rotation, 1:5 weekend call Friday-Sunday
Volume: varies 30-60 patients per day, scheduled between 2 (ORS and PA)
Scope: PA Orthopedic Surgery – both clinic and IP surgical 1st assist
Procedures: Surgical 1st assist PA with strong Operative ORS background, well as OP Clinic for general orthopedics, tendon repairs, wound closures and debridement, injection of joints, fracture management sterile field, etc.  
EMR: NextGen clinic and Meditech IP
Hospital: Clinic and Hospital located 3 miles apart
Group/support: Working with 1 ORS, Dedicated Ortho nurse, Clinic manager
Requirements (boards, license): PA – BC, Active OK license/OBNDD, DEA strongly preferred (open to consider non-licensed candidates)
