The locum tenens Nurse Practitioner Wound Care opportunity in Washington…
Location: Washington
Duration: June 1 – December 30, w/ option to extend
Schedule: Fulltime
Shift: Monday – Friday 8a-4:30p, no weekends
Call: No Call
Patient volume: 10-18, sometimes with additional 1-3 HBO patients; occasional inpatient/ER consults
Scope: Needing NP that’s certified wound care, hyperbaric, specialist for our hospital based wound care. Mostly diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers. Some surgical dehiscences, open surgical wounds.
Special wound care skill requirements/competencies needed: debridement; I & D; NPWT; bone biopsies; total contact casting; compression wrapping; management of long-term IV antibiotics for treatment of osteomyelitis; identification of candidates for HBO and supervision of HBO; ordering and interpretation of ABIs, TCOM, vascular ultrasounds, x-rays; ability to make appropriate referrals to specialties like vascular surgery, general surgery, podiatry, orthotics/prosthetics specialists
EMR: Cerner
Hospital: 25 bed critical access hospital
Group/support: 2 RN’s
Requirements (boards, license): Active WA license or active IMLC. BC, Needs a clean file for credentialing
